Downloading PDF and PNG files

PDF (Portable Document Format) and PNG (Portable Network Graphics) are both file formats that are commonly used for digital graphics. However, they serve different purposes and have different features.

PDFs are typically used for printing and sharing documents that contain text, images, and other graphics. They are a popular choice for product designs because they can be easily shared and printed in high quality. PDFs can be opened and viewed on almost any device, making them a versatile file format.

On the other hand, PNGs are typically used for web graphics and digital images. They are ideal for product photographs because they support transparency, which means that the background of the image can be removed. This is important for product photographs because it allows the product to be displayed on different backgrounds without any visible white space.

Transparency is a key feature of PNGs because it allows the background of the image to be removed, leaving only the product itself. This makes it easy to place the product on different backgrounds without any visible white space. When exporting a transparent PNG from Canva, ensure that the background of the design is removed or set to transparent. When you upload your transparent PNG into viaGlamour you'll see your design printed on the products with the container's packaging color still visible beneath your logo.

When designing products on Canva, it is recommended that PDF files have a white background. viaGlamour prefer PDFs to have a white background to ensure that the colors in the design are accurate and consistent. The white background will automatically be removed from the design before it gets transferred onto your container. Additionally, a white background can help prevent any issues with the design bleeding into the product background or interfering with the printing process.

To export a print-ready PDF file from Canva, select the "PDF - Print" option under the "File type" dropdown menu. This will ensure that the file is optimized for printing and includes all the necessary elements, such as crop marks and bleed lines. Make sure to review the PDF before sending it to the printer to ensure that the design is accurate and meets all the necessary specifications.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Canva account or sign up for a free account if you don't have one already.

2. From the Canva homepage, click on the "Templates" option on the left-hand side of the screen and select the product type that matches the width and height requirements provided by viaGlamour.

3. Once you've selected the appropriate product template, you can begin customizing it with your own images, logos, and text. Use the drag-and-drop interface to move elements around and experiment with different design options until you're satisfied with the final product.

4. When you're ready to export your design, click on the "Download" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Choose "Print PDF" and "PNG" from the options provided.

5. After downloading both the PDF and PNG files to your computer, log in to your viaGlamour account.

6. From your viaGlamour dashboard, select the product you want to upload your design for and click on "Upload."

7. In the upload screen, select both the PDF and PNG files that you downloaded from Canva.

8. After the files have been uploaded, you can preview your design to make sure it looks the way you want it to. Make any necessary adjustments before finalizing the product listing.

9. Save the product listing and it will be ready for customers to purchase.
